The “Decade of the Woman”™ is an ambitious undertaking by Affiliated Women Intl™, designed to honor and recognize the accomplishments and achievements of women in various aspects of community life.

For too many years, women’s contributions to society in general have gone unrecognized. After all, we’ve only had the right to vote since 1920!  But the tide is turning and women are now coming into the spotlight in ways we never imagined.  And those of us associated with AWI and THE CONNECTION STATION think it’s high time that happened!

“Decade of the Woman” events are planned for at least six cities across the country each year through end of 2020. A full ten years of women being honored for their accomplishments and contributions.  Well known women who are nearly a household name in their local area – as well as the “UnSung Heroines” who give daily with no thought of payment in return.

Each event benefits a local or area charity that provides direct services to women or women, children and families.
